Hi, my name is Nikki and I am the enthusiastic founder of Heritage Physiotherapy & Co. I became a physiotherapist after being inspired from my personal experience. In my late teens I was walking on the pavement near my family home when I suddenly became the victim of a serious hit and run car accident. I will be forever grateful for the exceptional rehabilitation I received following extensive foot and ankle injuries and the inspiring physiotherapists that worked tirelessly to get me back to my best. I will also never forget the feeling of empowerment that comes from overcoming huge challenges and mental trauma.
I am very proud to be able to give back as a physiotherapist and I am very grateful to have received excellent training both in the NHS and privately. I graduated from Keele University as a Physiotherapist in 2009 and following graduation I completed extensive junior rotations in orthopaedics, acute medicine, community rehabilitation, intensive care and musculoskeletal outpatients. I also gained valuable experience in cardiac rehabilitation, women’s health and pulmonary rehabilitation. Working in the NHS has given me a broad base of knowledge, enabling me to treat my patients holistically. In 2016 I moved to Oxfordshire and progressed to a team lead role within the NHS. This is where I developed a passion for service development, designing and delivering group exercise classes and working closely with the nationally recognised ESCAPE pain team. After having my children I worked in the NHS and in private practice gaining valuable experience. I have recently completed a contract working at the Oxford Children’s Hospital, specialising in neuroorthopeadics. The experience of working in a thriving acute trust and the privailage of working with children and their families during often very challenging times is something I will always be thankful for. I adore my vocation and my favourite part of my career is the variety. I love that every day is different, and every patient is unique with their own story to tell. Today I am the founder of a small business with a big heart. I am very excited for the future of Heritage Physiotherapy & Co and I look forward to welcoming you into our community.
