The Guardians of Your little ones Galaxy
As a parent you will agree that children are resilient, determined with boundless energy. They are also inquisitive, fearless and slightly accident prone at times! Exploration is important for a child’s development, but we understand that for parents, looking after a child that has experienced a traumatic injury is a worrying experience. Similarly, if your child is managing a chronic condition, we understand it is vital to you that your little superstar is living life to the full. All our appointments are generously times as we don’t want anyone to feel rushed. There is plenty of time to ask questions and practice exercises so that everyone is confident and happy.

The Side Kick (because every hero needs a trusted side kick)
Nikki, Our lead clinician uses a combination of role play, games and functional activities to help your child feel at ease, whilst gaining all the important information we need to provide the highest quality rehabilitation. Our aim is to make our patient and parents feel as comfortable as possible with all sessions available in the comfort of your own home, or in our fabulous clinic where our patients can enjoy playing in the beautiful grounds of the Harewell campus as part of the assessment.
Our lead clinician is a mother to two energetic boys and has a very real understanding of the anxiety parents face when their child is not at their best. We run a supportive, caring and approachable service so that everyone feels content and happy.

Our Pledge
At Heritage Physiotherapy & Co we provide a transparent, ethical, and conscientious service. We love to speak to our patients’ guardians before our appointment to make sure we are the best service for your child. If we are unable to help, or have any concerns, we will sign post you to the most appropriate service. Following your child’s treatment, we will also send you a concise report, so you have records of your child’s diagnosis and treatment play. We also frequently liaise with multidisciplinary teams such as the patients GP and SenCo if indicated and informed consent given.
We understand children may not always want to conduct their exercises, but at Heritage Physiotherapy & Co, we are master motivators and disguise our exercise programs in fun game play.
Don’t like superheroes? Perhaps your child is a little bit older? No problem! Please let us know your child’s favourite characters/interests, and we will develop an exceptional, evidence-based assessment to help them engage with the process.
Extra, Extra, read all about it! This is what parents said about our paediatric clinic
“We reached out to Nikki in July 2022 after finding it out that the waiting list for physiotherapy to help with my daughter’s suspected dyspraxia was going to be at least a year long.
Nikki came to visit us at home to do the initial assessment, all of the activities were really fun and my daughter felt really at ease. We were given a set of exercises to work on which really helped and then had a couple of follow up sessions where a new set of exercises were given each time.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Nikki.”

“After breaking his elbow (non-displaced lateral mass fracture) and being in a cast for 5 weeks, my son (5) had a very stiff arm that was taking longer than expected to get better so we booked an appointment with Nikki to get him checked out.
Nikki was so great with my son, doing a Super Hero themed assessment and exercises so she could see his arm moving in different ways – he even got a Super Hero cape, mask, stickers and bubbles, which he was really pleased about. He was having so much fun pretending to be The Flash, Hulk and Spider-Man that he didn’t really clock he was having a proper physio/ musculoskeletal assessment, and it went really smoothly! Nikki was really friendly and professional. She explained what each exercise was for and the results to me in plain English, and the report to give my GP was sent through later that day.
Heritage Physiotherapy & Co are based at The Fitness Experts gym on Harwell Science and Innovation Campus just outside Didcot, Oxfordshire. It’s a really nice environment and there is an open area of grass outside that was perfect when more space was required for some of the assessments (e.g. crawling around like Spider-Man). There’s also a really nice café next door for before or after your appointment.
I highly recommend Nikki and Heritage Physiotherapy & Co. It was a very professional and well-run appointment in a lovely setting. I will definitely go back to see Nikki if anyone in the family needs to see a physio”.
